The advice shop is open only Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday.
MP. Martin Salter holds a "Drop in Surgery" usually on
4th Friday of the month from 6pm to 7.30pm in the Advice Shop.

Just to let you know that there is a PCSO surgery at Whitley Advice Shop on the first Monday of the month from 11-12noon, the next one being on Monday 2nd June(next Monday).
Also, Ashley Morgan is holding a debt advice surgery on Weds. 4th June from 2-4pm at South Whitley Community Centre. He will also be holding one at Whitley Advice Shop on Weds 18th June from 9.30-12noon.

Round the corner there is a Co-Op Store (there are ATM machines outside the Co-Op) There is a Pay Pal in the Co-/Op where you can charge your prepay Gas and Electric keys and cards. A Handy Stores next door which includes the Whitley Wood Post Office, there is also a Fish Shop incorporating Kebabs and Pizza's.

Opening times are as follows.

The centre will be run as a private health and fitness centre and will have much better equipment for all to use.
There will be a membership charge, this will be according to what the person uses. If any of our residents has a passport to leisure we are pleased to say that this will still apply at centre, and prices will reflect according to the category of your passport. There is a really fantastic Gym for all the people who are into serious training, or generally people looking to get fit. The centre has a pricing system, so please ask when you go to find out more. We know they will be pleased to answer any of your questions. Whether you become a monthly subscriber of just want a one off swim, you can make use of this very modern and impressive new centre.

Rabsons Play Area and Youth Shelter

There is a Youth Shelter installed within Rabsons Recreation Ground, and it is very well used by the youth of the area, somewhere for them to go and interact with each other. Also, there is a revamped play area for younger children, where children can play safely under the watchful eye of a parent or adult, these items for the play area have been upgraded recently and are very well used by local children.

Why not join a local class in Whitley
Eat Fit Keep Fit, Thursdays during term-time, 10 - 11.30am South Reading Youth and Community Centre, Northumberland Avenue, Whitley
Eat Fit Keep Fit has been going since September 2006, run by the Sport and Activity Development Team at Reading Borough Council. We spend half an hour or so discussing healthy eating, and challenging some of the diet myths, to establish how to truly lose weight, and keep it off long term. Some of our regulars like to be weighed and measured at the sessions, but don't worry, it's entirely up to you!

We then finish with an exercise class, so make sure you bring trainers and exercise gear! The class can be anything from circuits to combat aerobics, with plenty of cardio vascular and body conditioning exercise each week. Thanks to Reading Borough Council and SureStart, it only costs £1 per session! Surestart also offer creche spaces at the same time. You must call them on 0118 901 5780 well in advance to avoid disappointment.

By combining healthy eating and exercise, you really can make a difference to your health and body shape, so why not come along and join us?
Pilates is a wonderful way to relax and unwind whilst strengthening and toning the core muscles, improve posture and balance, and build awareness of the body. It's also great for people who suffer a range of back problems.
